04 Mar 09 It’s All Greek to Me!

If English speaking folks use the phrase it’s all ‘Greek to me’ when they don’t understand what someone is saying then what do the Greeks say? Funny you should ask.

Don’t you just love simple, elegant diagrams? Me too.

24 Feb 09 Experience Design Roles

I just came across this old variant on Experience Design and the roles/skills within. It includes the key inputs from Strategy, Technology and Research.

Sorry the quality is so poor. I’ll have to see if I can dig up a source file for this.

04 Jan 09 Republican Redesign

Newsweek recently challenged “four hot (and nonpartisan) design firms” to create a new look that would help the GOP reach younger voters. The big four included: razorfish, Pentagram, Frog Design and The Groop. Honestly the results were not terribly exciting. Chris Fahey over at Graphpaper.com reviewed all four and offered some insightful commentary.

I think the real problem here is that Newsweek looked at this as if it were a marketing problem that could be solved with a brilliant Rebranding exercise when in reality its a job for Marketing with Meaning. The GOP needs to Rethink its product if it wants to appeal to the youth of future generations. Repackaging the old and tired ideology of Republican past is not going to deliver value to the savvy political consumers of the future
