Free Culture
Gong blogged about this a few days back. I’ve been meaning to write something more extensive just havent had time. Quote from Gong:
Free Culture is a new flash-based “game” produced by subversive Italian group Molleindustria that playfully simulates the interplay of free ideas in the Commons and the destructive effect that intellectual property enforcement has on the free flow and sharing of ideas in the Commons. As an artist’s statement, it’s provocative. As a dynamic simulation, awesome. As an interactive expression of the relationship between Capitalism and the Commons - I’ve never seen anything like this and fully respect its impulse if not its conclusion.
Review, play and download the simulation here

I used to complain about the fact that game designers were doing so much innovation in interaction and interface design, but they weren’t writing about it. I wanted to know what was going on in the designers’ heads. Well now we have Gamasutra’s game design features, and some of them are really great. “Using the Hero’s Journey in Games“, “Cinematic Construction for Gamers“, and one of my favorites, “Creating Immersive 3D Worlds Using Lessons from the Theme Park Industry“.
